But definitely got to do the glamorous bits too; like this cedar-decked sky bridge to the entrance and beyond to the back. Exacting in every detail to Saul’s original plan.

We spent hours sitting in the house, going over plans and papers to determine the smartest and least impactful improvements to Saul’s residence. In the end, we did all the little things to make it appear as a loved and lived-in house by a master. Its perfect in its ever-so-slightly patina-ed glory.

The back deck was a visual continuation of the front bridge. Detailing was key here and every original design cue was followed.

We consulted and set strategy for Phase 1 and 2 for this long, maintenance-deferred Zaik treasure. Spending time listening to the house and deconstructing design-intent; we determined sensitive updates for the decking, exterior detailing, kitchen and interior materiality

For the exterior, we deferred landscaping to Phase 3 and set to the task of updating the garage. A lovely square volume with tons of space, but a challenging flat roof.
